Why evening treatment?

No time off work

Appointments on Wednesday evenings — after working hours. No need to take leave and your employer need not know.

Combine with work and study

Suitable for working adults, students and carers. Take care of yourself without disrupting your daily routine.

From home

No travel time, no waiting room. Consultations via secure video connection — you choose where you log in.

Short waiting times

By offering evening appointments we can provide more capacity. Check our current waiting times on the waiting times page.

How does it work?

Referral via GP

Ask your GP for a referral to specialist mental health care (ADHD). This can be done via ZorgDomein or by letter.

Registration and intake

Register using the registration form. After receipt, we will schedule an intake appointment on a Wednesday evening.

Diagnostics and treatment plan

The psychiatrist establishes a diagnosis based on conversations, questionnaires and information from close ones. A personal treatment plan follows.

Treatment on Wednesday evenings

All consultations take place via a secure video connection, every Wednesday between 18:30 and 21:30.

What do we offer?

ADHD diagnostics

Structured diagnostics by a psychiatrist: anamnesis, questionnaires, hetero-anamnesis and clinical assessment in accordance with NVVP guidelines.

Medication management

Guidance on initiating, optimising or tapering ADHD medication. Methylphenidate, dextroamphetamine and non-stimulants.

Psycho-education

Understanding ADHD as a neurobiological condition: how it affects your daily functioning and which strategies help.

Who is it for?

AvondFocus is for adults aged 18 and over in whom ADHD has not yet been established or where current treatment is insufficiently effective.

You can register if you:

  • Have difficulty with concentration, planning or impulse control
  • Have long suspected you have ADHD but have not yet received a diagnosis
  • Have previously been diagnosed but are not receiving adequate treatment
  • Are unable to attend regular mental health care during the day

Please note: AvondFocus is not an emergency service. In the event of acute psychiatric distress, we will refer you to the appropriate care. See our crisis and urgent help page.
